Who we are
We are the Society of Women Coders, a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you have any question about this page, reach us through the contact form on our home page.
What we collect and why
The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send us: through the contact form (your first and last name, your email address, the topic you pick, and your message) or through the impact-letter signup (your email address). We use the contact form for one thing: responding to you.
Submissions are stored in our site database, which is hosted by Wix in the United States. We keep contact-form messages only as long as we need to handle your inquiry, then delete them.
The impact letter
If you sign up for our impact letter, we store your email address and use it only to send you that letter, a short update on the work, once or twice a year. We never share or sell the list. To unsubscribe, use the link in any letter or ask us through the contact form and we will remove you right away.
Spam protection
To keep bots out, the contact form and the impact-letter signup use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that submissions come from a human. Nothing is loaded from Cloudflare while you browse: only when you submit either form are your IP address and some browser signals processed by Cloudflare to run that check, and Turnstile may set a cookie of its own. We do not store your IP address.
Children
Our programs serve girls and young women, so we know children visit this site. If you are under 13, please ask a parent, guardian, or teacher to contact us on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
Donations
Donations are processed by PayPal on PayPal's own site. We never see or store your card number, bank details, or any other payment information. PayPal's own privacy policy applies to anything you enter there.
No tracking
This site has no analytics, no advertising, and no user accounts. We do not sell or share personal information with anyone. Fonts and images are served from our own site, so loading a page does not send font requests to third parties.
Your choices
Want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted? Ask through the contact form and we will take care of it.
Terms of use
The content of this site (text, images, and design) is © Society of Women Coders. You are welcome to link to it; please ask before reusing it.
The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep everything accurate and available, but we cannot promise it always will be.
